01 / WHO WE ARE
Inside every child,
a world waits
to be discovered.
We are a team of volunteers who believe learning can bring children happiness.
At the Happy Learners Centre, we connect children in Cyprus with the environment, art, science and technology. We create opportunities to learn by observing, experimenting and sharing, especially for children with limited access to modern learning resources.
Founded in 2016 and recognised as a charity in 2017, ÖMB is a nonprofit centre supported by aid and donations.
Our team of skilled volunteers brings together experience with children, families and teachers, teacher education and team coaching. Since 2017, we have organised robotics and coding fairs, alongside local and international gatherings.

Learning together,
through the years.
Every new project is a chance
to reach more children.
We began with a belief.
The Happy Learners Centre was founded; registration followed on 10 November.
A centre dedicated to the public good.
We were recognised as a charity on 28 February and began bringing FIRST LEGO League events to children in Cyprus.
We opened a new space for discovery.
Through the Happy Children Science Park, we introduced children to experiments, engineering and the living world.
New horizons, together.
ÖMB launched Cyprus Robofest, its annual robotics festival and competitions, and became the Cyprus partner of ENJOY AI.

Our organisational identity
ÖMB is a nonprofit public-benefit organisation run by volunteers. It was established by a Council of Ministers decision on 25 October 2016, registered on 10 November 2016 and recognised as a charity on 28 February 2017.
Our funding
ÖMB funds its work through aid and donations. This support helps sustain activities that give children access to learning opportunities.

Support children’s future,
with a deduction from profits under legal conditions.
The tax treatment of donations to ÖMB is based on Article 8(1)(A) of Income Tax Law 24/1982, under the tax rules applicable in northern Cyprus.

The upper limit based on the relevant year’s net profits.
- Eligible donations made against a receipt to Council of Ministers-approved charities for purposes specified by law, such as education and scientific work, fall within this provision.
- The deduction applies to the profits of the year in which the donation is made. Total expenses within this provision cannot exceed 10% of net profits.
- These expenses cannot be carried forward to later years in the event of a loss.
This is not a direct tax credit or an unconditional exemption for every donor. It does not establish tax deductibility in the Republic of Cyprus or another country. Discuss your company’s or personal eligibility and required documents with your accountant.
